| Introduction | Andrea Garrote received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lehigh University in 2002 and a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan in 2005. As a professional counselor, Andrea specialized in sex offender-specific treatment, having worked with both adolescents & adults in the criminal justice system. Andrea was trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), a form of psychotherapy that employs social skills, empathy, and life skills training coupled with psycho-education to help clients overcome difficulties in thinking, behaving, and emotional response. This background offers a unique perspective on sex abuse safety, school violence, bullying, criminality, and Disruptive, Impulse Control, and Conduct Disorders. Andrea also has a background in working with special needs students as well as leading both personal and professional workshops. She received professional child etiquette training by internationally-renowned business etiquette expert and protocol consultant, Lyudmila Bloch. |
