| Introduction | It is my prayer that you will discover that God has been at work in you, even before you were born, preparing you for for this moment. He is calling your name, right now. Get off the bench, and into the game. I've spent most of life in East Texas and Northwest Louisana ministering in churches as a pastor. Currently, I serve as chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains USA ministering to the employees of companies in the Longview/Kilgore area. I call Orange, TX my hometown, and graduated East Texas Baptist College (1974) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity, 1979) My wife, Jackie and I have been married 38 years. We have three adult children and five grandchildren. The experiences as a husband, father and grandparent have provided a wealth of life experiences writing material. Besides experiences as a pastor and chaplain, I have been a youth minister, sports writer, custodian, gas station attendant, ship-fitter's helper, and even a bagel baker. As my blog title implies, I am a sport enthusiast, who is now more of spectator than participant. |
