Introduction	IAs a full time mom, full time scholar of environmental policy, I want to raise my child within my values: to give her the world without destroying it. I dub myself MommyGuyver when I create cheap, green solutions to everyday family issues. MommyGuyver strives for each project to be - lean (e.g. cheap, re-using, repurposing, reducing clutter, not throwing money at a problem or giving in to the commercial madness of parenthood) - green (e.g. non-toxic and generally healthy for my family and the greater global family) and - easy (i.e. I’m a mom. I don’t have time for long, complicated projects!). I hope that scrappy resourcefulness will not only help me save green while being green, but will also teach my daughter that a little elbow-grease can make a big difference in the world. This blog will document experiments in elbow-grease – I’ll post mine and hope you’ll post yours.
