| Interests | Andrew Owens is included among one hundred artists in Best Canadian Contemporary Art, by Joan Murray, (Hurtig Publishing.) This was in recognition of his video, 'Anima Rising', which deals with the need in a male-dominated society for more emphasis to be placed on feminine values if we are to find balance and sustainability. He works on the reinvention of business as a fine art form, referred to as Biz Nouveau. He studied process philosophy at an institute in Berkley. This is the basis of project management and therefore the unquestioned dogma on which decision-making in business, government, and Western civilization depends. With an honours degree in Chemistry he has also studied the science of self-organization and believes organizing in alignment with nature promises to be far more pragmatic and effective than decision-making based on process and project management. He has worked in marketing and advertising for over a decade with several blue chip clients including Chanel, IBM, Colgate-Palmolive, and Volkswagen. He was chair of Toronto's first new media institute for Creative Communications, ICC, and a co-founder of Canada's leading new media art gallery, Interaccess. Born in Wales his people are the Ancient Britons, indigenous to the British Isles. He enjoys watching dance and including ideas about cosmology in gardening and cooking. |
