Introduction As some of you may or may not know, I started jewelry making by chance. My mother-in-law really thought I’d enjoy crocheting. I kept saying I couldn’t do it, couldn’t be taught, but she was patient and after a few stalls, I finally realized it was fun and that I could do it. But no gramma squares or afghan blankets for me, nothing major ever really came of it. Then the ever so patient Judy came upon crochet jewelry. Again, it took a lot to get me to try it, but once I did I was hooked! I practiced with different colors, designs, materials. I loved walking into the store, coming around the corner and seeing the wall of jewels. I feel like Indiana Jones finding a coveted archaeological discovery. Only I walk into the sacred temple of sparkliness, and the treasure is now mine for the taking and making. I love to stand there and just marvel in its beauty. Jewelry making has been an accidental yet exciting and almost therapeutic discovery for me. I stumbled upon jewelry making by chance and a little coercion from my mom-in-law, but am now a full time enthusiast and lover all of all things jewelry. I hope to spread some of that same jewelry-ism to you.
