| Introduction | The first regional branch in the Houston Public Library system opened October 20, 1975. It was named for J. Frank Jungman, an early developer on Houston's west side who played an important part in expanding Westheimer Road from a two-lane gravel road to a paved six-lane street. Architects W. Irving Phillip and Robert Peterson matched the new role of the regional library with a new concept in building design. |
