| Introduction | Massimo Pupillo is a musician . He' s been a member of the collective Gronge ('92 to ‘97) and with two members of that band started the trio ZU, gaining status of cult band worldwide. Zu released 14 albums on international labels like Ipecac Recordings, Atavistic , Red Note, Amanita, Frenetic, etc The album “Igneo” (2002) was produced at Chicago’s Electrical Audio by Steve Albini, Cd “Radiale” (2004) was produced by Bob Weston. He played more than 1500 concerts in Europe, Russia, USA, Canada, Korea, Japan, Africa, Mexico and South America. Zu have been on tour with such bands as Faith No More, The Melvins, Fantomas, The Ex, Lightning Bolt, Ruins, Dalek, Nomeansno, The Thing, etc. Zu have been in the top 10 polls of USA radios as reported by the magazine Jazziz , and in the jazz top 10 of Village Voice. Their cd Carboniferous has been voted best release of 2009 in the Uk magazine Rockarolla and in the 2009 top 10 of the bible of indie music, Pitchfork. |
