About me

Gender Male
Location Washington, DC, United States
Introduction Originally from the Coney Island / Brighton Beach area of Brooklyn, I moved to DC in 1997 for law and graduate school at George Washington University. Over the years, I've pushed for increasing city government responsiveness, safer neighborhoods, addressing nuisance properties, supporting neighborhood businesses, and improving our parks and schools. I currently serve as president of the Mount Vernon Square Neighborhood Association, a board member of the Federation of Citizens Associations, and the Council for Court Excellence. In the past, I have served as president of the Logan Circle Community Association, Chair of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2F, and a Board Member of Shaw Main Streets. I was a candidate for the Ward 2 seat on the D.C. Council in the September 2008 Democratic primary, receiving 35% of the vote against a 17-year incumbent. Professionally, I am an attorney at a downtown law firm, where I am a member of the Public Policy Group and coordinate our office’s pro bono work. My wife, Robin, is a public school teacher. I have a dog, Rocky, and two cats, Apollo and Sinatra. In my free time, I enjoy playing pool and tennis, and biking.
