| Introduction | Working in museums for nearly 20 years, Cinnamon Catlin-Legutko has been a museum director since 2001. Prior to joining the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor, Maine, as CEO in 2009, Cinnamon was the director of the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum in Crawfordsville, Indiana where she lead the organization to the National Medal for Museum Service in 2008. A passionate advocate for museums – their successes and their needs – she is a frequent presenter at national museum meetings. She serves as a council member for the American Association for State and Local History and was the founding chair of their Small Museums Committee. She also serves on the Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) Advisory Committee for Heritage Preservation and as a peer reviewer for the American Association of Museums. A graduate of the Seminar for Historical Administration, Cinnamon holds a BA from Purdue University and an MA from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville). She lives on Maine’s Mount Desert Island with her husband, son, and a dog named Chuck. |
