| Introduction | Frances has taught in a variety of settings, including informal parent/toddler groups, private early years nursery settings (babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers), Primary Key Stage 1 afterschool clubs, Primary Key Stage 2 holiday clubs, Secondary Key Stage 3 special education schools, undergraduate and post-graduate university students, private guitar tuition (children and adults), and care and residential homes for the elderly. Her workshop-like sessions are extremely interactive, involving music creation, movement and props, which allows her to continually assess both group and individual needs based through experiential learning. She has written a number of publications on teaching music for the early years, including her Routledge publication based on her master’s research, “Learning with Music: Games and Activities for the Early Years”, 2017. |
