| Introduction | I am a Christian that has been in recovery since April 23, 2003. Most definitely, I believe in the infallability of Scripture and traditional Christian doctrine. I also believe in the necessity of the spiritual experience mentioned in traditional recovery literature, as well as in the program of action known as the '12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous' (along with the various adaptations of the program). I do not see the '12 Step program' and my Christian faith in conflict and feel that I am seeking God in both Christian worship services and in a '12 Step meeting'. I do believe that God allowed me to fall so far in order to find a solution that is based on daily dependence and surrender to Jesus Christ. |
