Introduction	This blog is about our little family, our little hillside, and our little story of life as it entwines with the the world of flowers, gardening, family, and how to make a simple, aimless walk into a week of crafts, games and poetry. Saffie (my husband) came from the coast of South Africa, across the wild seas to a tiny cut-flower farm in the Virginia Piedmont. He found flowers, and he found me. We made our life here and raise our children, Little Lola and the Dirt Dog (that's my boy, the sweetest boy covered in mud you'll ever have the pleasure of knowing). It's a good life.
