| Introduction | Hello. I'm Kate. I'm a farmer and a doula and someday I want to be a midwife. I live on borrowed land in the hills of Vermont with my partner, Nick, our aging pit-bull and two ferocious house-lions, our small beef herd, our beloved Jersey milk-cow, Winnie, two pigs, three wooly sheep, 40 chickens and our ten thousand honey bees.
