Introduction Born in Belfast, Geoffrey served in the British Army for 22 years, where he learnt some of his Survival skills. Geoffrey received a British Empire Medal (BEM) from the Queen in the New Year’s Honours List for establishing a Nature Reserve in Germany. While working in Belize he gained experience in Jungle Survival from Winston, a renowned survival expert. On returning to the UK he trained with Thomas Schorr-kon from Trackways & Tom Brown Jr at the Tracker School in the USA. A keen ‘Birder’, he has taken part in bird projects & ringing programmes; throughout the world – he has illustrated several bird books. In 2008 he completed a Master’s (MSc) in Addiction Psychology at Southbank University, his research Explored How People with Addictions Experienced Nature-Awareness as a Therapeutic Intervention & in 2009 he presented Natural Awareness at the 7th Wilderness Therapy Symposium at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado USA. Natural Awareness as a therapeutic intervention has been successfully used in rehabs & other organisations from the UK, Europe to the USA. Geoffrey continues his personal/professional development & is the proud father of Janine & Nickie.
