| Introduction | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Linda, Jonathan and Shira spent part of a six-month sabbatical in Valparaíso, Chile, from February to June of 2008. Linda Motzkin and Jonathan Rubenstein are co-rabbis of Temple Sinai, Saratoga Springs, NY. Linda is also a soferet, or Hebrew scribe - one of only a handful of women in the world engaged in this traditional work - and is currently writing a Torah scroll. Jonathan founded and operates Slice of Heaven Breads, a non-profit, volunteer bakery based in the synagogue.
