| Introduction | Hastings Zidana (PhD), is a Fisheries Researcher and Head of Malawi National Aquaculture Centre (NAC). EDUCATION INFORMATION: A PhD in Molecular genetics, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. A PhD in Biological Sciences, researching on Population genetics of Lake Malawi Cichlids, using the cutting edge molecular technology at The University of Hull, UK. I am well placed to comment and direct on the fisheries related issues, policy and management of Lake Malawi biodiversity. A Master of Science (MSc. | Interests | To save the genetic and species diversity of Lake Malawi Cichlid Fishes, by use of informed decisions from proper molecular research work. To study aquatic environment and biodiversity. Recently I have been fascinated by the idea of improving growth of local Malawian Tilapias being used in Aquaculture industry in Malawi, from its current 0.5g/day to >1g/day weight gain. |
