| Introduction | This educator's profile begins with a B.S. in Special Education and certifications in Special Education K – 12 and Elementary Education 1 – 6. The following credentials in Counseling were procured: Masters Degree in Counseling Education from UM-St. Louis, certification in School Guidance Counseling K-12, and National Counselor Certification. She retired from teaching after the 2013 - 2014 school year. During her work, extensive quantitative and qualitative studies were researched in the following areas; special education, research-based learning strategies, replacement therapies, positive psychology, self-talk and self-monitoring strategies, multiple intelligences, bully prevention, instructional technology, effective teaching practices, behavior modifications, personality testing, MAP/EOC testing, ethical indoctrination, and various counseling therapies. The phrase “positize it” was coined by her as a teaching tool to embed the importance of changing negative or unhealthy thoughts, actions, and behaviors into positive or healthy ones. Care of family and others is her mission in life. |
