| Introduction | Chocolate & Sage are two of my favorite ingredients. Chocolate is like the playful, decadent and indulgent side of life; sage is the organic, aromatherapeutic & even elegant side of life. Sage fried in butter is one of my very favorite smells and tastes. When all my senses are awakened I feel fully alive, especially when the kitchen is involved. The fantastic thing about food is that it is a delicious social commentary about any given place. Food is art created from nature's palette, like great architecture often of minuscule proportions. Variations in food are derived from history and cultures that are rich in everyday and exotic ingredients, invaluable nutrients, evolving techniques and exciting with flavors from continent to continent, era to era. Finally and foremost, food is an offering of love. Food is culture in edible form. How else can one soak in the diversity of our world in literally just one bite? Some people say they eat to live, but I would choose to say that I live to eat... experiencing life with all six senses one meal at a time. |
