IntroductionI was born in Gosford, NSW in 1953. I first came to the Northern Territory in 1978, and have lived here in Darwin permanently since 1980. I was married here in Darwin, and my two children were both born and mostly educated here. I have been a fairly active contributor to the NT News "Letters to the Editor" pages during my time in the NT. Most (probably over 90%) of letters submitted to the NT News during that time have been published. This is no longer the case - as now it seems that anyone who submits a letter which is seriously critical of Labor (NT, state of federal) has very little chance of publication. For that reason I have started this blog - where I and others can air views that have not been to the liking of the NT News "Censor" (letters editor). As for me - I believe in small, efficient, minimum interventionist government that allows people to get on with their lives and prosper.
InterestsAustralia,Northern Territory,Australia,Economics,Foreign Affairs, Good Government, Small Government, Low taxation, Limited government intervention in all aspects of human endeavour, Recently after 30 years of contributing to the NT News "Letters to the Editor" and having most of them published, the "Letters Editor" appears to have decided to reject all the letters that I submit. Hence the name of this blog.
Favorite moviesNot a favourite movie, but wise words, which sum up my basic philosophy.......... A quote by the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931ˆ2005 “You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
