| Introduction | I am an education researcher and a photographer. In particular, I am interested in how new media (e.g., Flickr, mobile phones and digital camera) restructure thinking, values, actions, community, and culture. Since 2004, I have participated in a few projects funded by UW-Madison, US Department of Education and MacArthur Foundation to study how games(such as augmented reality games on handheld computers) may be designed and used for formal and informal learning. I have been a member of the Games, Learning and Society research group and Local Games Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2004. After receiving my PhD degree from UW-Madison in 2009, I joined the Learning Sciences Lab at the National Institute of Education in Singapore as a Research Fellow. As a photographer, my goal is to capture the essence of life. My photos can be found at Flickr, an online community for photographers around the world. |
