Einführung My name is Mona. I am the mother of 7 children, three sons and four daughters. I have fourteen grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I was married for 43 years to my highschool sweetheart and soul mate. He died of lung cancer in December of 1997. I was devastated and felt my life was over. Four years later I met and married a wonderful man and began life anew, however 6 years later I lost him to liver cancer. I went back home where my family lives and tried to heal. I also needed to be there for my son who was having a kidney transplant. I later met and married a very gentle man who had also lost his wife of 55 years. We are busy making a new life together trying to make our last years something to remember. We are not alone anymore. We are happy. God is good.
Interessen Family, decorating, piano, shopping, gardening, baking. Anything to do with making a warm and cozy home. I used to enjoy cooking a lot more than I do now. Maybe with seven children I sort of had enough of it...but...still..would rather eat at home than out at a restaurant. Actually, I think I like to write too. More than I thought.
Lieblingsfilme Reds, Out of Africa, Falling in Love, Sense and Sensibility, Howards End, and of course Gone With the Wind to name just a few. A Christmas Story, Reds. Ok...and National Lampoon Vacation and Christmas Vacation! I can't help it. They make me laugh! I love movies and own many, many of them.
Lieblingsmusik Country, Neil Diamond, Enya, Eva Cassidy (We miss you Eva!) Rock, Oldies and Big Band. Lots and lots of artists come to mind. There isn't an era of music that I don't like. Well..ok..some of the rap I have heard..makes me cringe. And someday there are going to be a lot of deaf people ..all about the same age!
Lieblingsbücher John Stienbecks entire collection. The Painted House is one of my very favorite recent novels and I like to read biographys, Historical novels. Just read Close to Shore, The Life of Edgar Sawtelle. I always have a book going..also read Barbara Walters' "Ambition." Robert Wagners "Pieces of my Heart." I am glad I read that..it taught me not to form opinions about things I know nothing about except what I read in the news. I always have a novel going..and sometimes two at a time. I LOVE to read. Historical novels are my favorites. Ones that are factual. English history is another passion..books on the Victorian era..
