Introduction Liz became a Master of Wine in 1982, becoming the eighth woman to do so. In the late 70s and 80s she managed the mail order wine businesses of British Transport Hotels (the Malmaison Wine Club) and Les Amis du VIn. She then spent a period in Hong Kong, where she divided her time between wine writing, broadcasting, lecturing and wine consultancy. She was Hong Kong Tatler's wine correspondent and co-authored its guide: Hong Kong's Top 100 Restaurants. She has spent the last 13 years as House & Garden's Wine Editor. She also launched her own business, Coach House Courses, Wine & More, from her Hertfordshire home. She has been wine consultant to many restaurants including The Archduke, The Footstool (in St John's Smith Square, Cafe Rouge and Bella Italia. She is also a sought-after wine judge. From 2007 she has divided her time between Edinburgh and Roussillon, where she continues to work as a wine writer and consultant and regularly judges in international wine competitions.
