| Introduction | Talk Is Cheap. I know it. You know it. We all know it. In fact, talk is so cheap that is practically free! Yet we sometimes pay a steep price when we misspeak... TIC has set up experiments that, through questions about language and miscommunication, explore hybridizing migrant practices. Our first lab is Pura Cháchara, a mobile bike-b-q unit that will be rolling through the streets of the West Adams neighborhood in Los Angeles, CA. From February through April 2013, we will collect oral histories and work together to develop creative translations in exchange for delicious homemade arepas! |
