Introduction	The Nile Institute of Economic Studies serves as a politically independent and non-profit, promoter of free-market economic and social policies in Khartoum, Sudan. The Institute aims to function as both an academic and a research center, providing the general public with a more comprehensive and intellectually honest understanding of the economy, as well as the social developments taking place in Sudan. The Institute looks to contribute to solving the economic and social challenges faced in Sudan, as well as to address the concerns of the Sudanese and international community regarding Sudan’s role and situation as a developing nation-state.
