Introduction	OK, I admit my real name isn't Steve. I was given this name on my first job as a new apprentice by an older journeyman I was working with. He was a nice man, always joking, and giving me a new name was his way of making me feel more at home - maybe. Maybe he just enjoyed calling out "Hey, Steve!" to me. I thought it sounded better than my real name, so I didn't mind. I am an Industrial Mechanic. I have been doing this for 23 years. When I started it was rare for a woman to be doing this job. It still is.
