Introduction	I'm a malcontent who tends to see the absurdist side to politics, whether they be world shattering or just the more Peyton Place-like parochial ones of my institution.
Interests	Do academics have interests? We have intellectual passions, but interests, given the continual cutting of state funding, I would say that we're not really permitted to have interests anymore due to the fact that we're supposed to work 24 hours a day to make up for the fact that clearly we've been slacking off for years, doing our selfish scholarship and abusing undergraduates. So, no I have no interests.

Favorite books	anything by Joan Didion, Michel Foucault Power/Knowledge, J.D. Salinger Catcher in the Rye
