| Introduction | John Myre is the author of the original book, "Live Safely in a Dangerous World," and the e-book "The Safety Book For Your Family." Since 1992, John has promoted off-the-job safety, family safety, and the development of Personal Safety Plans. From 1992-2002, he was the editor and publisher of Safety Times, an off-the job safety publication for businesses and organizations. The publication was distributed to over 20,000 people. Additional versions of the material have been sold to organizations for use in their safety programs. John's prior experience includes thirty-four years as a financial and risk management executive with Southwestern Bell Corporation. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, he has achieved the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. He has been a speaker at several safety conventions, has written articles for safety and risk management publications such as Professional Safety magazine and Business Insurance magazine, and is the author of the off-the-job safety chapter in Safety and Health Management Planning (Government Institutes, 1999). |
