Introduction	If you are a high school junior or senior and are feeling ambivalent about going to college or university "right after" high school, you should know there are enormous opportunities at your disposal. There are many reasons why a 17- or 18-year old might not be ready for college. And if you're not certain of what you want to do or what you want to study, taking a gap year to try new experiences while gaining some wisdom (along with a bit more age) can make all the difference later.
