| Introduction | I am the great grandson of Sami al-Halabi, a man whose real name could have been anything. In 1824 he settled in the town of Aleppo, Syria and purchased a farm where he grew onions. That same year he began a newspaper called "Pivazistan." While the man who started the Pivazistan empire is long gone, his legacy shall live forever and it is in his memory to which this blog and the entirety of its content is dedicated. Expect this blog to be brutally funny, absurd and violent, the three adjectives with which grandpa always described the Middle East. |
