Introduction | For as long as I can remember I have had the urge to create art. When I discovered the art of altering fabric through surface design I attacked the creation of artworks from cloth with a vengeance. I feed my hunger for artistic impact through memberships in Studio Art Quilt Associates, Surface Design Association and the Artists Guild of the Santa Ynez Valley. As a member of Fibervision in Santa Barbara and Quilts on the Wall in Seal Beach, both fiber artists' collaboratives, I and fellow artists exhibit unique works internationally. I am blessed to have a studio which is quite unique, having risen from the neglected remains of an old goat barn. The newly rebuilt creative space has been featured in STUDIOS Magazine. It is a sanctuary where I can escape and let my imagination take me beyond physical boundaries. I express my ideas in both representational and abstract textile art. I strive for a continually evolving body of work--one that is my own unique vision and voice. |
Interests | I am interested in exposure to new perceptions of the world around us, both on a conscious and sub-conscious level; and translating those perceptions into visual and tactile art. |
Favorite Music | Music composed and performed by my husband, jazz and the rock of my formative years. |
