| Introduction | Greetings! As many of you know, I’m spending my junior year abroad, at the London School of Economics. I leave Chicago September 24, 2011 and return for good on August 15, 2012. Between now and then I plan to share my travels with friends and loved ones, in a way that I love- via maps! Ever since I was a kid I've had a very keen sense of direction and interest in maps. Essentially, if I've been somewhere once I can get back with no map. Contributing to my interest in maps is my parent's undying dismissal of GPS. So no, we do not own one. Before we embark on trips we will consult our weathered atlas and go from there. As I post updates of my travels I’ll include images of the routes I take. A vision, perhaps a vain one, would be that someone could repeat this trip, given the navigation details I include. I read a fun book this summer where the author tallied steps the protagonist took. I liked the idea. So in addition to logging my miles, I'll post the number of steps I take. This is my first shot at blogging, so we'll see how it goes! My hope is that I can keep many people in the loop, efficiently. Haha, I am an econ major after all. With that, please enjoy! |
