| Introduction | All seemed to be progressing smoothly once I graduated the junior college, until that dark day in September when everyone's world changed. After graduating from the University in 2003, the hopes of growing old in my nice airconditioned office became only a dream. The nice, cushy office job I always dreamed of was no more. Corporate America cut backs and the recession following 9/11 left average college grads such as myself on the outside looking in. My Bachelor of Science Degree rests on the wall of my bedroom, not my office. There are now obligations I face while growing here in America. No longer am I a dependent under my father. I am on my own. There are bills to be paid. I could and would have been a snook, but I have been forced to see what kind of man I am. |
