| Introduction | I started this blog because I have been going to Gettysburg for years and taking pictures of the monuments or the skies on a particular day just the overall scenery to capture a moment in time. I just had an idea one day to post my pictures because I wanted to share them and I use my pictures in concert with Gettysburg: Stories of Men and Monuments As Told by Battlefield Guides By Frederick W. Hawthorne all my information comes from this book unless otherwise noted. I came across this book because I couldn't find a monument and needless to say that doesn't happen anymore because of this wonderful book. I do use other sources and I will give them credit when I do. When I visit Gettysburg I feel respect for these soldiers who gave their lives, I feel sorrow for young lives ended so soon, but I also feel like I am playing a part in honoring that sacrifice by capturing these images. |
