| Introduction | I am editor of Building Design. |
| Interests | I trained as a reporter, and went to work on BD when Paul Finch was editor. I was news editor. I then worked for the the Independent (which was the first paper to have a weekly page just for architecture) and the Observer. I joined RIBA Journal, first as deputy editor, then as editor, and became editor of BD in 2006. I have been a Stirling Prize judge twice. I was named editor of the year by the British Society of Magazine Editors first for RIBAJ and then BD. My writing has appeared in a range of other publications, including Domus and the Spectator, and I wrote a book,Contemporary Windows, published in 2003. I comment about architecure on national TV and radio and I'm currently on the Newham Design panel. If I could have a wish it would be to save Robin Hood Gardens and restore it as our Unité. I would also like to write a book about swimming pools. |
