| Introduction | Christian Haitian American Partnership (CHAP) is a non-profit corporation representing American churches and organizations who work in partnership with communities and Episcopal churches in the Croix-des-Bouquets area of Haiti. Our mission is to work with the Haitian people to help improve their quality of life. |
| Interests | CHAP ( Christian Haitian American Partnership) is a South Carolina Eleemosynary Corporation, formed in 2004, and granted tax exempt status by the IRS the same year, as a 501(c)3 entity. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the people in Haiti. We have three primary areas of focus: 1. Children's Nutrition. A program called "Lespwa Timoun" serves severely malnourished children 2. Children's Education, A scholarship program provides support for five schools operated by the Episcopal Church. It permits 550 impoverished children to attend class. Construction of a new school in Gorman will begin when funds are available. 3. Medical and Dental Care. We send teams of physicians, dentists and volunteers with donated medications, to conduct medical/dental clinics in the countryside. We are centered in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina, but we receive support from all over the United States, and send teams to Haiti, not only from the Myrtle Beach area, but also from Michigan, Missouri, Arizona, Ohio and Washington state. |
