Introduction educational background is pretty much 100% centered on English lit (with a primary focus on the medieval and early modern periods), but more recently my reading consists almost exclusively of nonfiction (memoirs, essays, biographies, etc.). fwiw: MA - english, northwestern university; BA - english, sewanee (aka university of the south) . . . . . and while it's essentially never relevant enough to mention elsewhere, the crossword community are undoubtedly the only ones who might be amused by the fact that my high school was located in... that's correct, NATICK. (and as it happens, my senior year of HS and the inaugural Rex Parker blog entries kicked off roughly simultaneously.)
Interests the current goal is to start working toward my master's in library science next year with a plan to specialize in the area of special collections libraries/archives/so on. i'm also thinking about a dual degree entailing a museum studies track, excepttttt.. ..tttt first i have to get myself through the application process etc. so check back with me in like february 2023 if these stakes, idk, interest you? i guess ---i'm also in the process, sort of, of figuring out whether i want to/should/could run a personal blog, and if so, what that might look like. if it ever materializes, i'll obviously link to it here.---
Favorite Music the smiths, tchaikovsky, grimes, again, though, not about list making, but i'll say that i'm often a song girl rather than an artist girl. so many favorite songs, in other words, are literally the only song i know by a particular artist or band. so idk
Favorite Books [i.e. authors] jia tolentino, sarah kane, derrida, philip larkin, bell hooks, beckett, james baldwin, ugh i hate having to make lists on the spot tbh, this is enough
