| Introduction | I grew up in suburban Philadelphia during the 50's and 60's. When I was 16 I went away to boarding school and never really lived with my parents again after that except for short visits. I started playing guitar when I was in 3rd grade and continued studying music all the way through college. My BA is in music composition. I had the chance to study music in Stuttgart in 1974 at the Musikhochschule. Later on I spent about a year in Italy. When I moved to Seattle in 1976 I continued working on music but I also got involved in the restaurant business and continued earning my living in that business for 23 years until I decided to get back into education and become a teacher. |
