Introduction DRAFT!! My interest in Yoga began in 1970 when I read Siddartha by Hermann Hesse for a college class. I was immediately drawn to all things Yoga! After reading Autobiography of a Yogi, I knew I had to find a way to practice this ancient art. My first teacher was another book, The 28-Day Yoga Plan by Richard Hittleman. I faithfully practiced from that book for several years and amazingly my life was transformed. Not only did I feel better physically, I felt a deep sense of peace that was always there, even through some very turbulent times. I began to meditate, too; and in 1973, finally found a real live teacher and a class I could attend. Although I don't remember her name, she was unforgettable. At 65, she was a shining example of health and loveliness ~ kind, compassionate, calm, patient, and filled with joy. I wanted it all! Over the years, I have practiced Yoga, not always everyday, but when I stopped, something always reminded me to come back to my practice. One night after a class,my Yoga teacher asked if I'd ever considered teaching. That began my journey to become a certified Yoga teacher.
