| Introduction | A displaced, mid-westerner living in California against my will. Ok, not really, but I don’t really fit in here and I have a lot to say about that, growing up, and learning to find and love yourself where you are at. I write what Linda Barry calls “Autobiofictionalography.” If you grew up with me, know me then or now, or have ever bumped up against me in the supermarket, you’re likely to find some semblance of yourself in my work. However, the things you will read here are well, my “truths” and the names may or may not have been changed in full disregard of protecting anyone—innocent or not. The exception exists only in the case of the neighbor upstairs, as these tales are entertaining enough in their full unabashed truth. |
