Introduction Hello there! Depending on how you know me, I'm either Quill, or the Book Birdie. Or plain Birdie. It's up to you, really. Basically, I read. A lot. I love words, the way they can move like liquid, convince anyone anything, make dreams solid and real. The point of Book Birdie is to give you, the reader, a first hand look at books. Basically, I review one or two books a week, and share my thoughts on it with you. I'll also do movies occasionally, but not as consistently. The idea of Book Birdie is to review teen books by a teen (me.) So sit back, grab some chocolate, and explore. Read a bit. And, enjoy.
Interests I love to write, to read, to immerse myself in words. It's like magic. I also enjoy drawing, creating jewelry, general art, that sort of stuff. Music, movies, reading, hanging out with friends.
Favorite Movies Flypaper--if you haven't seen it, you need to--, The A-Team, Grease, Sherlock Holmes--the ones with Robert Downey Jr.--Pirates of the Caribbean, all four, Inspector Gadget, pretty much any good mystery movie.
Favorite Music Wild Wild West by the Escape Club, Panic! At the Disco, Video Killed the Radio Star by the Beaugles, the Beatles, Jason Mraz, KT Turnstall
Favorite Books The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller, Kiki Strike by Kirsten Miller, pretty much anything by Kirsten Miller, Maximum Ride by James Patterson, Witch and Wizard by James Patterson, Little Bee, The Secret Lives of Bees, Code Name Verity

When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?

They had to be saved, the smashed petals; no matter the poetry they voiced. The rose petals, frozen, crushed, had to be saved...the hopelessness of it, it was just so wrong. When they smashed it, I let out a cry. Why, oh why do we feel the need to break beautiful things?
