| Introduction | The trials and tribulations of rallying an old and complex Jaguar XJ-S V12. The car would not have been an economic proposition for a dealer or a restorer - there were just too many hours work required to bring her back to a roadworthy state, let alone a concours finish. Once roadworthy, we entered the car in a series of short events to thoroughly test all aspects of the vehicle before attempting a long distance historic rally. I don't make my living in the auto trade, but as an enthusiast, I have worked on cars and motorcycles for many decades. My aim is to at least match a professional mechanic's standard. I may not work as fast as a professional, but I am able to take my time over the hundreds of small details involved in a project such as this. In the end, the result will be a full and professional standard of restoration - it won't be quick, there may be several iterations, but I will enjoy the journey. I hope you enjoy it too.
