| Introduction | Hi, Rosemary was my mother. She was born in Tuscola, Illinois. Moo (originally Moo Moo) was the name of affection given by her three children. And over time, all of our friends called her Moo too. Moo was one of those rare people who always knew exactly what she wanted to be--an artist. She never waivered on this, and she was just five years old when she won her first art award. Moo's parents were unsual too in that they let their only daughter leave their small midwestern town in the late `30s and go off to art school in Chicago. Moo never looked back. The reason I'm posting her recipes is that after I was born she found it difficult (actually impossible) to juggle a commercial art career and her family. She made a choice--she picked her family and channeled her artistic talent into cooking...for which we were grateful every night. It gives me great pleasure to post these recipes as well as create a central repository my sister and brother and friends can come to for inspiration and access to a recipe they want to make. |
