Introduction Tim O'Hanlon has been an effective advocate for adoptive families for a number of years. As a state government employee (aka bureaucrat), he was instrumental in crafting the policy reforms that allow adoptive families to file appeals for federal adoption assistance and retroactive benefits after a final decree of adoption. Mr. O'Hanlon received the Adoption Triad Activist Award from Adoption Network (Cleveland) in 1993 and the Adoption Activist Award in 1994 from the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC). In November 1998, he was one of eight recipients of an Adoption 2002 Excellence award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.Tim retired from state government and currently provides information services to adoptive families, attorneys, advocates and agency professionals.
