IntroductionGoal: Send 10,000 prayer cranes to devastated Northern Japan and aid in tsunami relief efforts with donations. In Japan an origami crane represents a heartfelt prayer. Receiving a gift of a thousand cranes shows someone’s wish for your prayers to be answered. We will send groups of 1,000 cranes to affected regions accompanied by donations received to aid the recovery of that area. Mission: Remind the people of Japan they are not alone. We love them. God Loves them! We are praying for them, and continue praying for them. To remind people here to KEEP praying for the people of Japan. The crisis in Japan is far from over. The Dai-ichi plant still leaks radiation. Some northern coastal areas SANK 10 feet in places, so with every high tide, villages which sank are swamped again, hindering recovery and cleanup significantly. People in all these affected areas may never return home. Thousands of displaced people are still in shelters, have lost jobs, and must find a new normal. We want to share Christ’s love with them. Less than 1% of Japanese people are Christian. We pray for recovery from the disasters, but also that Japan will be transformed by them through Christ’s redeeming work.
