IntroductionMy name is Hannah, and I'm a freshman at Park University this year. I created this blog as an assignment, but I hope it serves as more than just a grade in a grade book. My goal is to have an eye opening experience for myself, as well as provide that opportunity for others.
InterestsI like to sing, listen to music, and make music (I play piano, violin and guitar)...I love to read and learn...I enjoy crafty-type things, like scrapbooking and painting. I like to sketch, usually random thoughts going through my head. One of my favorite things to do is just be. I like to push the pause button on my day and be still and quiet. =]
Favorite moviesFried Green Tomatoes, Soylent Green (....IS PEOPLE!), To Kill a Mockingbird, the Harry Potter series, Alice in Wonderland, pretty much every Disney movie involving a prince and princess, Heath Ledger movies, The Princess Bride, Shia LeBouf movies (Even Stevens totally counts!), Panic Room, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, ....I could sit here forever and type away. Long list short--I'll pretty much give anything a shot, and I watch movies like I breathe oxygen. =]
Favorite musicAnother subject that I could list and list and list and never be close to the end. Right now, I've been listening to a lot of Eminem. He came out with a new album 'Recovery' recently, and it has a lot of great tracks on it. I listen to songs from his album 'Curtain Call' the most. 'Lose Yourself' has always been an inspirational song for me. I listen to it when I feel challegened and want to over come an obstacle in my life...I understand it's sort of weird for a young woman to listen/praise rap and hip-hop, but I love the ingenuity of artists from those genres. I also use their music as a way of expression. It's not socially acceptable for me to run around saying "I don't give a d*** what you think/I'm doin this for me/ so f*** the world", but when I listen to the lyrics, my energy is released.
Favorite books...and another topic I love dearly. To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies (Fun Fact: I have multiple copies of this book--my mom tries to find ones with new introductions and cover art for me when she goes to book stores), the Harry Potter series, A Wrinkle in Time, Where the Red Fern Grows, Deadline, American Born Chinese (SUPER GOOD! It's written in sort of a graphic novel style, but DO NOT let that turn you away, it's amazing!), Sold (Written in poems--another WONDERFUL teen fiction book), Nicholas Sparks books, the Crucible, The Red Badge of Courage, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath...GAH! I could go on and on...When I'm not watching movies, I'm reading. My mom always read to my brother and I when we were little and that instilled in us a love of words and reading. (Another fun fact: Mom has so many books, (from when she was in high school, till now) and my brother and I have so many favorites that we have a library in our house...Not like the ones at schools or in towns, but a parlor room with book shelves from floor to ceiling =]) I like reading all types of books, but lately I've been focusing on youth literature. I think it's a genre that is often over looked, but there truely are some great books out there.

When you hesitate before hitting snooze on your alarm clock, are you being lazy?

I don't believe you are--For me it's more of a waking up process. I know if I hit the snooze button before I'm actually going to physically remove myself from the bed, I'm going to fall asleep. So I prepare myself to get up, and then as I'm standing, I turn the alarm off.
