Introduction	As the Art Specialist at Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center, I have the privilege of teaching creativity and self-expression to enthusiastic Kindergarten through fifth grade students. I began this journey in 2001 after having spent most of my professional career as a graphic artist. Now, I am not only a teacher at this wonderful school, I am a parent as well. The Carlson culture is truly unique among public schools. The interaction between teachers, students and parents truly embodies the idea of taking a village to raise a child. And to me, that village is the place I most want to be!
