| Introduction | The poet W.B. Yeats wrote in The Second Coming: 'everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drowned, the best lack utter conviction while the worst are full of passionate intensity.' I like to think there is still some innocence left to celebrate and to mourn. Hence the name of my blog. It is a tribute to those who have pure hearts - the innocent, the good, the kind, the gentle. Also the poor, the oppressed and the bewildered who are usually those things because they are lambs. Of course, I also needed an excuse to write about animals, especially my pets, and other events that meant a lot to me. |
