| Introduction | My name is Emily and I'm 22 years old. I attend Loyola University in New Orleans and I am majoring in business marketing. All of my family members were born and raised in New Orleans. I have two older sisters who are 29 and 31. My sister Tracy works for Arvest bank in Tulsa, OK and my sister Kelly is a high school teacher in Baton Rouge, LA. My father, Ken is the vice president of sales for the automotive company Dayco located in Tulsa, OK and my mother, Grace is a high school teacher in New Orleans, LA. Although part of my family now lives in Oklahoma and Baton Rouge, we are able to maintain a very close relationship with one another. Since we no longer live in the same state, this has strengthened all of our communicating and traveling skills. New Orleans has always been a very special city to my family and I, and now more than ever I feel it is my obligation to become educated in business to help restore our city. Through my personal experience from hurricane Katrina, I witnessed firsthand how there is a dependent relationship between business and community. I believe we need intelligent business leaders to improve our city for generations to come. |
