Introduction Living in the heart of a forest, the prospects for inspiration abound. Inspired by the world around me - texture, colour, form and line all combine to convey an image or a feeling. I aspire to share my interpretation of the world, at times abstract or sometimes realistic. I often carry a camera with me, at home and in my travels; taking photographs of landscapes, architecture, people, flowers, animals - anything that appeals to me. The images I capture are often inspiration for my art. Recent exploration of form and texture via the pallet knife convey a specific interest in nature and the human form. I love the process of using a pallet knife, applying paints to canvas, creating textures, watching the image evolve and transform. A life long inner need to express myself, via artistic creations, has led me to experiment with different mediums. Using paint on canvas or found objects applied to painted canvas I create compositions that take on a life of their own. My themes remain fluid as I create or express myself, as I go through life, focusing on and exploring what is important to me at that moment in time. To me life makes sense when I paint.
