| Introduction | On occasion, my Pastor will break into song when preaching on the importance of helping our neighbors. He would sing the verse “If you’ll move over just a little bit, I’ll help you carry your load”. I always love hearing him sing it, but had no idea what the song was. Recently, those two lyrics would not leave my mind, and I started searching the Internet to find the source. Turns out it is a Gospel song titled “If You’ll Move Over” from 1986 sung by The Greenes, and the complete song is about helping others. It tells of helping others going through tough times, because we have all been through them, too. By helping, we can lighten the load, learn about ourselves and others, and with God’s help, we’ll both it make it to the end of the road. |
